What’s Your Shape?
Understanding your shape will help you select better and more flattering designs. The best advice is to “go with the flow” and dress in designs that mimic your shape rather than go against.
- The Apple gal has a tendency to carry weight in the mid-section. She should avoid designs that draw attention to the middle: wide belts, high waisted pants, anything that cinches in the middle. Look for tunics, straight legged jeans, long, straight cardigans.
- The Pear shape has a larger bottom and a smaller top. Avoid shapeless over-sized tops, skinny jeans, slinky fabrics. Instead, look for wide legged pants, A-line skirts and waist defining jackets.
- Hourglass gals want to avoid shapeless, boxy styles, over-sized cardigans and tunics. High waisted pants, wrap dresses, wide belts and pencil skirts are better options.
The straight up and down gal is a Rectangle and she should avoid fitted waists, anything too flowy or unstructured. Long cardigans, over-sized tops, tunics, boot cut or skinny jeans look good
